Who we are

Mijn Auto is run by Hamoud Alwasmi, who is responsible for your data (data controller). Contact: info@mijnauto.app

What we collect

• Your account: email, name, account type and garage name. • Your car: licence plate, RDW data and mileage. • Maintenance, costs and documents you add. • Repair requests: description, city and photos or videos. • Messages and reviews between you and garages. • Questions and photos you send to the smart mechanic. • Your device's notification token, if you allow notifications. • Tow truck requests: pickup and destination address with their map location, your car and its condition, your phone number, and the photos and notes you add. • For tow companies: phone number, truck type and base, and your current location while the app is open. During a tow job your location is sent to the customer while the job screen is open, plus photos of the car at pickup and delivery. • Automatic mileage (if you turn it on): your location, also in the background, is used on your phone only to tell when you drive. We don't store or send your route; only the kilometres per drive are kept on the phone, and the total is added to your car's mileage.

Why we use it

Only to run the app: store your car data, remind you about APK and maintenance, and bring your request to garages. Garages only see a request after you share it. We never sell your data.

Legal basis

Performance of our agreement with you (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) to run the app, your consent for notifications, our legitimate interest in protecting the app against misuse, and a legal obligation (GDPR art. 6(1)(c)) to keep invoices for 7 years under Dutch tax law.

Who we share it with

• Garages: only requests you share, and the chat with the garage you chose. • Vehicle intake report: when you leave your car at a garage, the garage may record your name, phone number and email, the licence plate, the car's condition, photos and your signature in an intake report, also if you don't use the app. The garage is responsible for this data. Once signed, the report can't be changed or deleted, because it is evidence for both sides. If the car came through a booking in the app, you can read the report on that booking. • Tow companies: companies near your car see the rough pickup area (about 1 km), both towns, the car's condition and its photos. Only the company whose offer you choose sees the exact address and your phone number. If you pick a garage as destination, it sees the car coming in, the tow company's name and where the truck is. • Supabase: data storage on servers in the EU (Ireland). • OpenAI (USA): only questions and photos you send to the smart mechanic. • Google: to send confirmation and password emails. • Expo: to deliver notifications to your device. • RDW: we only send the licence plate to look up the car. • ANWB (Netherlands): only your location or the area shown on the map when you look for fuel or charging stations, without your name or account. • Report link for buyers: once you create it, anyone with the link can open the report for 30 days; a new link stops the old one.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you delete your account from the More tab, all your data and files are deleted right away, except invoices: Dutch law requires garages to keep their invoices for 7 years, so an invoice a garage made out to you, with your name, address, the work and the amounts on it, stays with that garage after you delete your account. It is no longer linked to any account. When a garage deletes its account, its invoices are deleted with it. Intake reports also stay with the garage after you delete your account, no longer linked to any account.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or ask for a copy. Email us at the address above. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

All connections are encrypted and every user can only see their own data. Secret keys stay on the server, never in the app.

Age

The app is meant for people aged 16 and older.
